Advocating for Housing as a Human Right

The Manufactured Crisis

Whether you’re a homeowner or a renter, you’ve likely experienced rising housing costs and an increase in homelessness in your neighbourhood. Housing is a complex issue, but not an unsolvable one.

Take action with us now (and in February 2027 for our national housing campaign).

Two things you can do right now:

1. SIGN OUR PETITION

Public money should be used for public benefit. But through tax exemptions, rebates, and other methods, public dollars are subsidizing the very forces that are driving housing unaffordability for tenants and pushing people into homelessness.

Sign our petition urging Prime Minister Mark Carney to fund the right to housing, and use public money to dismantle inequality and ensure everyone in Canada can live in peace, security, and dignity.

2. TAKE ACTION TODAY

This handbook is for anyone who is fed up with the housing crisis in Canada and wants to turn their frustration into action.

Real change can start with the actions in this handbook, but it cannot end with them. In order to create systemic change, we need to take collective action (be sure to follow our campaign in February 2027!).
